back when any landing was a good landing, even if you happened to come down on the wrong side of the war

  1. Hmmm... I got this picture with description that it was taken in city of Ostenda, Belgium. It was almost entire under Germany control, including Ostenda. Plane look like Albatros D.V maybe D.Va, sadly I can't recognize from what Jasta. The markings on German planes were applied rather frivolously. Also if you notice the solders on right side, they do wear typical military cap of German soldiers, the Mutze. The more bright colour of uniform can point that those are men from Marinekorps. But that's just my speculation.

    1. where I found it had nothing but speculation that it's an Albatross. Regardless of the circumstances, I think it wasn't making someone in charge happy that it landed where it is

    2. And damage the plane. The propeller cap is crushed and blades are destroyed. But overall airframe is in good shape, probably he land too hard and dived on the nose. That would explain crushed cap. But every landing is a good landing if you walk from it on your own legs.
